Entertainment & Nightlife in Montserrat

Montserrat remains the way the Caribbean used to be, a quiet, gentle place where there’s not a whole lot of nightlife except at special times of year. During festival time (December) or over St Patrick's Day (March), things can get a little crazier. There’s a host of small roadside bars, better known as 'rum shops'.

Nightlife usually involves sipping on drinks and chilling out (or 'liming') at these roadside bars or maybe catching a live band on Friday or Saturday night. There is no closing time and most bars stay open until the last customer leaves. Salem, St John’s, Cudjoe Head, Davy Hill and Festival Village in Little Bay are home to many of these bars. Bars include Gary Moore's Wide Awake Bar, Dessert Storm, Misers (all in Salem), Falming El Paso (St Peter), Green Monkey Bar (Little Bay), Jaxxons (St John).
